Never trade while drunk! Some people may ask ... WHY? Well, a clear head is needed while you are trading. ALCOHOL CAUSES DOUBLE VISION! You might think you were fighting two opponents! Drinking can affect your state of mind in so many ways. Simple mistakes can be made while trading with serious consequences.

What happens to alcohol in my body? Alcohol is absorbed into your body through the stomach and small intestines. Alcohol then flows through the bloodstream throughout the body, reaching your heart, brain, muscles and other tissues. This happens very quickly - within a few minutes. Usually, though not always, this has a pleasant effect (giggle, giggle).
  • Drinking too much alcohol can cause a variety of vision problems, called VISION IMPAIRMENT. If you are intoxicated the room may look blurry or you may feel like you are seeing double. This happens because once your blood alcohol level is too high, your brain can not send the correct signals to your eyes, causing different components of the eye to not function to their full capacity.

  • Since alcohol is mind altering, it can mess up your JUDGEMENT. Your brain is not functioning to its full capacity, so the more you drink, the more likely you are to make decisions that you would not make when you are sober.

  • As alcohol flows through your bloodstream and seeps through your brain, your REACTION TIME can be greatly impaired.
When you drink a lot of alcohol you are consuming a ton of empty calories which can impact your weight and impede your exercise efforts. Alcohol also inflames your liver. Prolonged and excessive use of alcohol can lead to liver damage, cirrhosis and even death due to liver failure.

Well, when you're VERY drunk too often, you probably need to talk honestly with someone about depression. Many mistakes would not be made if you stay sober (at least) during trading sessions.

Alcohol is meant to be consumed in moderation.
