It is paradoxical, but true: the man who is considered one of the best actor of Hollywood, has no major Hollywood awards. He was regularly nominated, but left without the statues. What do you think will happen this year?
DiCaprio was five times nominated for "Oscar", throughout his career, but never received an Academy award. The first time he claimed to be the statuette in 18 years for his supporting role in the film "What's eating Gilbert Grape". Last year, he was nominated twice as an actor and as producer for the film "the Wolf of wall street", but the award went to Matthew McConaughey and Alejandro Gonzalez, Inarritu respectively. This year DiCaprio and Inarritu, last year's opponents for the Oscar fight, presented to the public a picture of "Survivors" about lost in the snow traveller, who was left for dead companion. The movie has got lots of rumors during the filming - many of them were true. Some crew members called the shooting "Survivor" - "hell on earth". The leading man had the real liver of the bison for greater naturalness and beauty, walking on thin ice and spend hours hanging around in cold water. DiCaprio admitted that it was the most difficult shoot he's ever been. His ambition was assessed on the prize "Golden globe", awarded the prize in the nomination "Best actor in a feature film".
I personally think that Di Caprio should get “Oscar” this time. He had good roles, including those for which he was nominated. In order to get an Oscar, he needed to play better himself, to do something out of the ordinary - so he did. Let’s with him best of luck and hope for better
