Hello you!
You are going somewhere and you need to pack your bags for a trip? At first, congratulations! Even if you pack horribly and always forget something, so what. You are about to travel, and that's great! You are already lucky, don't forget about that. I've travelled a lot, due to my judo competitions, and no matter for how long and how carefully I was packing, I always forgot at least one important thing. But not once it ruined my trip, thanks to my team friends, who borrowed or gave me things that I needed. And even when you travel alone, believe me, as long as you are in a good mood and no matter what stay calm, you are safe.
Ok, that was a digression. Now, packing. Through years of travelling in different kind of transport, staying at different kind of places, including once having to sleep on my luggage at the railway station, having different amount of time for packing, from a couple of weeks to a couple of hours, I know how to survive in different kinds of situations.
So, there are a list of things that I think you have to take whenever you go or in which conditions you are going to stay:
- documents
- money (I usually take a little more than I need, just in case for an emergency)
Actually for some people it would be enough. And my dream is that some day I would take just that and would go somewhere. But we keep packing:
- I wear contact lenses so I have to take some stuff for them. For you it may be another things, related with your health, as some pills for example, and I think it's very important, so don't forget that. And even when your health is ok and don't need special attention, take some medicines just in case.
- My phone and charger. Honestly, I can't go anywhere without my phone. I need it to call somebody, to take a picture, to use maps as sometimes I tend to lose myself in a strange city, to use translator, etc.
- Dry/wet napkins
- Toothbrush/toothpaste/chewing gum, towel, shampoo, shower gel, etc.
In case you know for sure that the hotel you are going to is going to provide you those items, you can skip that point.
- Clothes (depending on the season)
- Underwear, socks
- Comb - girls that's for us. Guys, your hand is always with you so you are good.
- Headphones/earphones - almost forgot the most important part of the trip for some people. Sometimes they can be very useful, especially when you are going alone and there's nothing better to do. Cause otherwise put them far away and use the time to have fun with your co-traveller.
I tried to mention very common things that you can take anywhere. The rest of the stuff to take - whether it should be sunglasses/sun cream or pair of gloves - it's up to you. Have a productive packing and don't forget to "take" a good mood. Have fun on the trip! Love you!
