Personally, I don't trust people who say that they don't like money Of course, currency on itself isn't able to make a person happy but amenities that we can buy for it - yes.
What about the way I manage money, being a prudent person, I always control where and for what I expend my finances, and know what a sum of it is on my bank card or in the wallet. Moreover, I always plan the budget not only for a month but also for a week. I don't think that anyone can say that I'm a greedy person, I just don't like unnecessary expenditures, and believe that one thing of really good quality is better than ten of low
So, as you can understand, I don't buy things that I don't really need (at least I don't remember any situation like this since the moment I manage finances myself ) but sometimes unexpected things happen like parties, or travels (I always go somewhere spontaneously *maybe it's karma?*), or just "Gosh! this dress-of-my-dream" happens to be more expensive than I've expected In the case of such surprises, I always try to put at least 10% of my income aside, also this "nest egg" regularly save me when it comes birthday/ Christmas/ etc time. I'm not used to sparing on presents and try to buy only best ones for my nearest and dearest, so, you guess it, I always spend a little more than it was planned. However, does this fact make any difference when you see family or friends' faces alight with happiness?))
Altogether I would like to say that, in my point of view, it is better not to expend money for unnecessary fifth red lipstick, or cloth you don't need but "there is 50% sale!", and then buy something really essential and worth. Maybe, it's some kind boring and old-fashioned approach to money management (especially for girl) but I consider it as the best one cause it helps me be financially independent
