I see a major trend in a lot of the articles and posts that say Bitcoin will never work and will crash to the ground. They don't understand it. Nothing makes me more furious than people and article bashing something that doesn't have half the facts right.

People are afraid of the unknown, and that fear is fueling the misinformation about Bitcoin. What can we do about it?

There is no media department for Bitcoin, because Bitcoin isn't a company. You and I are that media department. It's up to us to set the record straight and inform people about the massive value of this amazing technology.

There are plenty of people in the world who wouldn't want something like Bitcoin to succeed, and they will spread misinformation and half truths in order to undermine it. As most people find it hard enough just to get along with their daily lives let alone understand how to safely use bitcoin, they won't/can't take the time to fully understand bitcoin, and at best will rely on (mis)information from trusted sources.

  • E.g. (mis)information from China: China banned bitcoins, which isn't the least bit true. They don't allow third-party payment companies to complete transactions with exchanges. BUT they have said that bitcoins are completely legal to own and trade. They have recognized bitcoin and allowed people to use them at their own risk.

I just want to ensure that anyone that is against it truly understand everything about it and doesn't hate it because they don't understand it. I want to do everything I can to help people understand it and see it as what it truly is. I hope many of you are like this as well...
