Endnote and comments: May 2011

With the May trader contest we have passed through an unnoticed symbolic anniversary - half a year since the launch of the competition. Already 6 month we've been observing an even-intensifying race of Forex traders, following their strategies, communicating and obtaining new insights.

From the point of view of Dukascopy, this process has been very exciting and useful. The traders' feedback helps us improving the functionality of the service and come up with new ideas about the further development.

Traditionally, we present a brief overview of contest news in May:

  • Users can now delete any comments from their trader blogs, thus, obtaining more control over the content and a tool to remove spam or unwanted entries.
  • Take-Profits are now moveable. Only in the direction of the trade, though.
  • Past top-10 victories are now shown in a form of Honour Badges on participants' profile pages.
  • Trader statistics have been restructured and grouped in sections.
  • Dukascopy points calculation methodology has been changed and now contains the maximum drawdown.

Sadly, at the end of the month we had to disqualify one of the top-10 participants due to severe rules violations. Namely, massive self-commenting and self-voting from fake accounts. We remind that respecting the rules and recommendations is crucial to avoid such kind of unpleasant situations.

The good news is that the project does not seem to have an end. Instead, due to high workload we are forced to find compromises between the timing of numerous new features' development.

Once again, we do not neglect to remind that the list features under development for the community is vast and there are many updates to come.
