This love story is sad but true. A close friend of mine (Donna) got engaged to her fiance, Darren whom she had met online. After 2 years of communication, he decide to travel from the USA to her home country in the Caribbean where he surprised her with his proposal of engagement under the stars, while strolling along the sandy beaches.
Donna was so elated, she immediately called me with the news. I shared in the joy and excitement with her even though I wasn't physically there to celebrate.
They enjoyed each others company for 3 weeks and began planning their wedding. Sure enough, before he departed, the date,venue and guest list was done. Invitations were sent out a month later.
Donna called me frantically a week after mailing the invitations informing me that she had not heard from Darren in three weeks and the devastation and pain in her voice resulted in a stroke. She was rushed to the hospital immediately and within a few days was paralyzed from the waste down.
Now confined to a wheelchair; she got the surprise of her life. Darren appeared at her home; his face disfigured,there was limited mobility in his hands and he lost his ability to speak.He was badly burnt while on his job and was hospitalized for the period during which she had not heard from him.
Despite their disabilities, I Had the pleasure of attending their wedding. Donna now unable to have children recently adopted a girl. They are both now residing the US. Donna is now working with disabled children and Darren now has the use of his hands, still unable to speak and has resumed his job.
Love is the reason to live and enjoy life to its fullest.
This couple was made for each other.

I was impressed by a love and a declaration of love untold. There are facts, not words. And it happens not in our world of people, but in that of the birds. I met the family of swans a year ago. Back then they had two young swans and seemed a happy family. They floated on the lake in the park near our house. I used to give them bread several times a week. Until one day when I noticed that one of the swans have a problem with a wing. I thinked that it rests .... but every time, the wing was still left .. Autumn has come and gone swan chicks. On the lake stayed just the two mature swans. Husband has not left the pair and they managed to survive the winter, which fortunately was not so heavy. Every time we go through the park we see the pair of swans. They're still together, inseparable, at better or worse, always together.
