My name is Cynthia Victoria Vanvoorden, I am 22 years old and from Belgium and Italy. I can speak five languages; English, Dutch, Italian, French and German, I can also understand Spanish. As for my hobbies I like to go out with friends, travel, go skiing, play tennis or go horseback riding. I have been living in Switzerland for about five years now, I went to a Swiss all girls finishing school to improve my french in Montreux and finished my bachelor and master studies at European University in Geneva in that time. Now I am working in a Dutch private bank called "Van Lanschot" as assistant portfolio manager. My future plans are completing all three levels of the CFA exams as I enjoy working in the financial world and would like to continue my career as a business woman.

Hi everyone

As you can see in my picture I chose the Swiss Franc; I have been living in Switzerland for about 6 years now so I somewhat consider it to be my national currency. The design of this CHF 1000 bill is the 8th series issued in 1998 and shows on one side "Jacob Burckhardt" who was a famous Swiss historician and on the other "Palazzo Strozzi, Firenze" which is a palace in Florence, Italy. There is a 9th series announced on the theme "Switzerland open to the world" however the new designs received a lot of criticism and hasn't been introduced further. Something interesting to know is that the CHF 1'000 note has the highest denomination note in the world. Opposed to other currencies the Swiss Franc currently has no real growth potentials since it will stay at the floor 1,20 per EUR or higher over the next 12 months. There have been discussions to raise the floor to CHF 1,25 per EUR to help Switerland's exporters and tourism industry who are not very happy at the moment. I would consider this to be a smart move to raise it for the economy and since the tourism in Switzerland is rapidly increasing, especially during the summer months.
