The 12 Most Important Things Everyone Should Know About Money

From businessinsider.com

1. Don't get a salary. A salary will never make you money. 2. Don't invest any of your money. Investing is for wealth preservation, not wealth creation, so first you have to make wealth 3. Come up with ten ideas a day. This doesn't seem like "personal finance" but it is. 4. Don't try to save money by not buying expensive coffee or taking subways instead of cabs. That's a myth. The best way to save money is to make more. 5. Learn how to copywrite. 6. Come up with ten ide…

Why Japan's economy is stuck in 'no man's land'

From cnbc.com

As poor economic data rattles faith in Abenomics following the April consumption tax hike, one analyst told CNBC that uncertainty over the outlook for Japan's economy will linger for some time. "With the consumption tax, we're not done with this… as the government is poised to take it from 8 to 10 percent next October," Paul Sheard, chief global economist at Standard & Poor's Ratings Services told CNBC Asia's "Squawk Box." "So if they go ahead with that we're still going to be - f…

58 Cognitive Biases That Screw Up Everything We Do

From businessinsider.com

We like to think we're rational human beings. In fact, we are prone to hundreds of proven biases that cause us to think and act irrationally, and even thinking we're rational despite evidence of irrationality in others is known as blind spot bias. The study of how often human beings do irrational things was enough for psychologists Daniel Kahneman to win the Nobel Prize in Economics, and it opened the rapidly expanding field of behavioral economics. Similar insights are…

GBP$

Good morning to all,
The Weekly chart shows last Week close was below Andrew's pitchfork lower band which suggest to go lower to the 61.8% retracement level, if current candle can close above lower band then the bull trend will continue next Week but i doubt it because the RSI is below 50 thus, a close below lower band is expected this Week.
The Daily chart shows that the pair has found a Support near Andrew's pitchfork lower band to prepare for a pullback to at least the 61.8% level or the Andr…

Finance is a Strange Industry

From fool.com

Finance is a strange industry. There's nothing else like it. I can't think of another industry in which there is so much ignorance around costs. Nearly all financial fees are deducted from assets automatically, rather than clients receiving and paying an invoice. This makes them out of sight, out of mind. Ask someone how much their cell phone bill is, or how much a gallon of gas costs, and they can tell you down to the penny. But ask them how much they pay in advisory fees, and th…

Good and Bad Inequality

From project-syndicate.org

Rising income and wealth inequality in many countries around the world has been a long-term trend for three decades or more. But the attention devoted to it has increased substantially since the 2008 financial crisis: With slow growth, rising inequality bites harder. The “old” theory about inequality was that redistribution via the tax system weakened incentives and undermined economic growth. But the relationship between inequality and growth is far more complex and…

From forexcrunch.com

Or we may find that strategies which worked well previously are under-performing, or under-trading. What could be the reason? Funny, I was looking at GBP/NZD's volatility today. Overall, it looks like we are finding a base for major, major reversal. I base that on technicals but also some promise of improved economy. That would be the affect of the volatility that we are experiencing, in my inexperienced opinion. I will have a look at others. Thanks, Neu_spir8. :)
