GPBUSDH1 - 17/04/15 - London Close - Scalp

Hello DFC,
Great loss for me this Friday, on a beginner´s mistake of changing my trading plan and stop loss in the middle of the trade.
I´m the first one to say to try to avoid this kind of behavior, because most of the times you will only lose more then the expected messing around with your risk and money management, a really bad idea!
Nevertheless, still alive and a few more days to trade until my next travel, hope to make it worthy.
Bellow, is the trade in a counter trend, making a pull back …

USDJPYM5 - Lodon Lunch

Hello DFC,
Unexpectedly, during the Lodon lunch time, we got a nice breakout on the USDJPY.
I got in and was stopped in profit, a small profit but enough to qualify me a little better on the contest.
The curious thing is that, I don´t place trades during any session lunch time, because most of the time you see a drop in the volatility, forming areas of consolidation that are not nice to trade. But today, this pair has given a nice trade and with a nice profit.
This is one the most interesting th…

NZDUSDH1 - Tokyo Open

Hello DFC,
With great volatility, the Kiwi has given a nice short trade, but as always in a counter trend, I set up a very tight stop loss, unfortunately it got hit after an expected huge spike, even for the D1 and the market seems to be moving to a great trend resumption. Must keep a close eye on the pair for further opportunities and from what I see at the moment, maybe a short term long position could be a nice forecast for the pair
I got out with a small profit, tomorrow is another day with …

USDJPYH1 - NY Open

Hello DFC,
Long time no see...but finally back and trading!
Today on the NY open we had a nice short term trend reversal on the USDJPY.
With low volatility, I usually avoid this pair, but today we had a nice move on it.
I didn't get the entire move, because when I'm working with counter trends I like to impose a tight stop loss WHILE in profit and got hit.
But I guess this time my stop was too tight.
I came out positive on the trade, but let several pips on the table...maybe next time...
Cheers,
JC

Fasten Your Sit Belts!

Hello traders,
Ready for the Fed?
Big day today with several important news and most of all in a FEW MINUTES the US Fed rates and press conference .
All predictions are good for the US currency, but lets wait for the tone of Mrs. Yellen.
The overall rumors is of the decline of the "patient" posture against the interest rates, this could lead to huge movements on the market.
So fasten your sit belts and get ready to get some pips...
Good Luck!

Hello DCF,
Big losses for me this week on the contest.
No excuses, but testing an up grade of my method and it seems to need a lot of improvements...
But, lets keep it up and never surrender....there is no turning back.
Never give up on studying and improving, the rewards maybe nearer than you think..

Gambling Traders - Is Trading a Gamble?

Hello DFC,
I´ve found an interesting description of the term on a webinar, by a friend, Chris from the Max Trading.
How can we define a gambling trader?
The subject is immense, beginning with defining gambling itself, but for sake of a Sunday morning, lets cut to the chase on what defines a trader that gambles with the market.
So here it goes:
"Basic traits of a gambling Forex trader:
- Has no trading edge or effective trading strategy
- Doesn´t have or use a trading plan
- Doesn´t have or use a…

A Nice Catch on the EURJPY

Hello,
The EURJPY decided to move even lower after the London close.

I mean, it was a 15 minutes trade for a total of 65 pips, not bad humm!?
And I thing I left the party too early, because it's still rolling down...still, no complains on my part and pips in the bag.

Important News Releases - Trading the News

Hello DFC,
We Forex traders make a living on the market movements; usually, the more volatile the better, and most of the times this volatility and momentum is only achieved through the news releases. But it’s important to know what kind of news moves the markets the most and when to take action. If you combine this information with the open/close/lunch hours of the different markets, you may have a nice model and method to successful trade.
Each trader will have this model worked up through t…
