Signing off for the weekend

After a weak NFP number just now I am closing my positions
Markets are all down after a weak NFP number today
All pairs are dropping and there is slight chaos
I have closed my Gbp short positions with a healthy profit just now
I will wait and see how it plays out for now

USD longs after dips

I traded some Usd longs yesterday after the NFP release
As UsdJpy dipped on seemingly strong numbers I went long
I had to buy some crosses too, to make some dollars
but eventually there was a bounce that I could close and make a little profit
I am long UsdJpy and UsdMxn at market close
and will be looking to add more just before the FED interest decision on Wednesday
The chance of a rate hike is deemed very high

Selling GBP before the NFP release

I am short all Gbp crosses before the NFP release
Gbp bounced back up a bit today - so I trying to sell the highs
Also, NFP is coming up, and Gbp being the weakest currency around - any good number should weaken Gbp
I am short Gbp crosses now,and will wait to see what the NFP release does
A good number for US should weaken Gbp,
and a disappointment could send Gbp up a bit more where I will be selling again

USD returns with a vengeance

UsdJpy went down after soft data but holds support and turns back up
This indicates to me that bad news is not going to bring Usd down
The news of a 'no interest rate hike soon' did not hurt the pait either
I will be buying Usd the beginning for this reason
Usd has proven to stand strong and not be shaken to new lows - lows seem in place
I see this pair at 1.10 before the months end

GBP weakness and NFP release

I made only 14K on the NFP release, or was I lucky?
Today was much harder work than yesterday, trading the market
I was short GbpUsd at 1.45, and added a GbpAud short to it
I was thinking that Brexit would be still looming and Gbp would go down again
Just two hours later I was up 50K, and cashed, easy money
This morning I was long UsdJpy around 107 - thinking that this was a good retracement level
(all) The banks were calling for strong data, and I believed Usd would gain

Non-Farm Payroll results coming up today - market awaits

Today Non Farm Payroll figure is expected slightly lower
I read a report on a website yesterday about research into the NFP releases of December
The past 17 years 12 of the December results have been lower and volitile
We might get a lot lower number than expected today, according to this research
The market is flat at the moment and waits to see what will come
I personally expect to see Usd/Jpy recover from its lows soon, as usual
We shall see (in about an hour)

Lots of action after the NFP data release

Lots of swings on the market today after the NFP figure
Even though the release was not high - 215K is about what was expected
the dollar surged and Eur, Aud and Gbp tumbled
It seemed that the US was planning to raise rates in September,
but after a while it became uncertain as more news hit the wires
Eur surged back up, leaving Gbp behind, and Usd tumbled again
Lots of action, but I stayed out - I was missing the heart to go in

Contemplating EUR and USD dollar trades today

Today there are two big data releases: European GDP, and the NFP (US)
This morning German data release - factory orders came in strong
and the Eur/Usd shot up to 1.125 from 1.1210
This indicates the market is willing to buy the pair - strength is not over yet
If the more important data release - European GDP comes in strong, then we will probably break 1.13
The NFP, later today will either bring Eur/Usd down, or strengthen its position
There is a tough battle going on in this pair

NFP disaster reflections

So, I lost about 100K yesterday during NFP data releases -- my Eur/Chf position did not open --- this was my own fault -- I changed the entry point so often that I missed entry every time
I will be going long next week in on this pair
My Aud/Nzd long broke 1.10 level
This was not the biggest problem, though
I made some pips selling Eur/Usd and Gbp/Usd right after NFP release, and wanted to put in SL's but my trading software would not accept them: It kept giving me the message ' SL can only b…

Adam, it seems you're not alone, I saw others have the same problem including me when you want to move your SL I get the same message as you:"SL can only be adjusted towards tightening". And as you I was forced to close that trade at market
