More Losses for Cable

Cable lost over 230 pips in September. We opened the month at 1.5362 and look set to close near 1.5130. The chart below shows this downtrend clearly.
But I don't think the losses are done for the Pound. Yesterday and today we've cleared several important support levels, at 1.5170, 1.5162 and finally 1.5134. Bad day

Yesterday wasn't such a great day as I was caught on the wrong foot trying to short GBP/JPY. Even though the other day I was short this pair but took profits too earlier and left much of the potential profits on the table this has made me chase another short trade. Losses are part of the game but taking a loss because of undisciplined behavior is unacceptable.

AUD/USD will consolidate losses

Monthly chart:
The pair is in a slow but steady downtrend. If it continues south, there will likely be some longer-term buyers entering the market at the support line that repelled the declines in 2011, 2013 and 2014. The next, even stronger, support cluster consists of May 2010 low (0.8066), 0.80 level and 61.8% retracement of the October 2008 to July 2011 rally.

After strong decline in September, price is still continuing lower but at much slower pace.

Update 1: Although the RBA stood pat at the recent meeting, they have sent a very dovish message to the market, which is now expecting at least one rate cut in the next year. The pair sold off and loses were compounded by Friday's strong NFP report. The 0.8624 prediction target is out of sight and only a strong short squeeze on year-end profit taking or a surprise reversal may bring it back to focus.

Update 2: The week was range-bound, but the pair closed near the lower end of the range, nearly 400 pips lower than the projected target price of 0.8624. A big surprise will be needed, such as dovish Fed next week, for the pair to reverse and hit the target by year-end.

Update 3: This was the fifth losing week in a row for Aussie. Given that Stevens is now talking about the fair value for the pair at around 75 (from 85 before), there's scope for further losses, but due to holidays we probably won't see much more selling this year.

Taking hits and holding on!!

My contest account is taking a beating!!...Account balance is currently at 40k...The bullish moves from the GBPUSD and EURUSD this morning completely knock out my short GBPUSD.

I had a rough start to this month. Nervous, though I don't know why. Last night I blogged my heart out, which really helped. Got up this morning and trading like a demon. Day is not done but I was down to $77,000 this morning and now back up to $98,000. I still want to get to the top 20, so have a way to go but never say die is my motto, so we will see what happens. Back again. Thinking about your 40K and if I can help...GBP/NZD does the pips. If you do her right, otherwise she will sink you. She is oversold on the Daily but still dropping today. It might be a long shot at a trade and she is in a reasonably tight short channel at the moment and still 150 pips to go but we have news soon and she might do a spike short to 1.9210 area (the Daily Bottom Bollinger Line). I doubt that she will sink lower since the Daily Average Line is still long and would need to go short for the Bottom Line to open up. Might not happen but am eyeing it here. Beset of luck.

thanks stix, my short GBPAUD was good...i closed it and entered another short, i am hoping it follows the GBPNZD, since they basically do the same thing...Expecting some large movements tonight.

Relapse!!

i have had a minor relapse, ignored my strategy and started trading with my guts!!..Intuition, sensing "future" price..Basically, i hit the bottle hard.....
And as expected, i lost money...
Now i am course-correcting..returning back to my approved strategy, got a buy signal on the EURUSD, went in and my SL got hit!!
What is wrong with the EURUSD!!..i am trying not to pull my hair out...Two long positions lost. Two positions in a row!!..Another long position has been executed, lets see how it goe…
