It’s hard to give an objective opinion on this topic as I believe everyone has a personal experience - some people will say social networks gave them a great opportunity to find love of their life, and other people will stand against online dating, convincing others that there are plenty of disadvantages as scams, lack of so called "real thing" . And both of the sides will be right.

So, instead of listing all the pros and cons, let me tell you much more interesting stuff about online dating in China, where I spend most of my time recently.

Here everyone knows how risky finding love online can be! Why? Let’s be honest, first thing you’re paying attention to when look for a partner online is their look.

Right?

You look through their pictures fist to decide if there any chance for this person to be considered as a candidate. Imagine, here is the one, looking just the way you dreamed of and you have a very nice conversation as well, so it feels just right and you are ready to meet this person in real life!

Guess what?

On the first date offline in China there are great chances you will meet a totally different person. Oh, no, they don’t use other people’s picture as you may think. The people are real and the pictures were theirs, only processed through that app to make them look “a little bit" more attractive.

Result?

There are some slight resemblance, but you has a feeling you were…deceived! And most of the dates like this end with dissapointment and desire to get it finished and go home asap. And I think it happens not because how you look matters more than your personality. It’s about being honest. The trust is lost on first day…and precious time is wasted.

That's was the story. Hope it will change for better soon and we become more true to themselves and others.
