Unity In Diversity
India is an amazing country in many ways than one can think of. You will not tag me as a jingoist,if at least once you visit this place and try to understand a bit of it. It is A NATION with one name but many religions, thousands of languages and dialects, myriads of festivals, confusing cultures and seemingly ridiculous rituals and many more such things!
An Almighty For Each and Every Thing!
Today I would like you to just have a peep into the CULTURE of Gods in this wonderful and historic peninsula. The majority of people are the followers of the ancient religion Hinduism. The unique feature of this religion is that it is not started or founded by a prophet or god's messenger. It is more like a way of life. The most intriguing feature is- we have more gods than the believers in this way of life. Moreover, most of the times, one seeker (there supposed to be no believers in Hinduism- only seekers! A Land of Seekers! Amazing ! isn't it?) will have more than one deity to suit his different fields of interests. Hence, you should not be flabbergasted to witness billions of Gods on your way of exploration!
Omnipotent And Omniscient
This is true in the literal meaning of the terms because our Gods come from every thing and every where. -From the sky, air, land and water. in every form- flying swimming, creeping, crawling, burning etc. And even a minute part of a whole thing also can be an almighty. By now one may think that all these are ridiculous. But it is not wise to judge a book by just looking at its covers. I do not intend to delve into the intricacies of all that, its a topic for an unending SEEKING! It will be suffice now to know that all these billions of Gods are effective tools for the seeker to attain 'Moksha' or 'salvation' which is ultimately finding the Amighty in "self' known as 'THATHVAMASI'
The images are taken from a lake near a temple. This is like a lake but its a small river and near the temple it looks like a lake. these fishes are in the river but they do not go anywhere else. It wont swim upstream or it will not go downwards! Devotees come to the temple and as part of their prayer they feed these fishes with the food they have brought.
We too carried a big bag of puffed rice with us but within no time the bag became empty and the fishes started nibbling at our toes! They crawl out of water to do this! Then my children started giving their biscuits and snacks but to no avail! Shoals after shoals of fish started to rush towards us and the only solution at hand was to say good bye.
Don't! Even in your wildest fancies imagine that you can have one as your food. 'Mathsyavathara' is a powerful incarnation of Vishnu one of the supreme Gods! So think of coming here with handful, no bags full of offerings and take back blessings only!
THANK YOU. VISIT AGAIN!
