I live in Riga, but I can't remember, that I told you my thoughts about it. In this capital city leaves a little bit more than 701 thousand people. Riga is small. Not only in geographical meaning, but also in thought that everybody knows everyone. In this post I won't talk about politics or economics etc. Just about city as it is. If you wasn't here- come here !
Any time is great, but mostly is december and summer. 
In winter all small street of Riga are covered with snow. It reflects the light and that is why nights are not so dark as in November or March. I adore walk in parks and in Old Town when big snowflakes are falling on your eyelashes. After, when I'm getting colder - I go to cafe ,my favorite is Costa Coffee, take big chocolate with marshmallows and enjoy the landscape ,sitting near window. Also, you can try famous PIPAR KUKA - tasty cookie with ginger
And when it is time of Christmas and New year - there is more magic...So that Riga is very small I have a feeling like all city is decorated with lights and garlands. Wonderful. In January and February, when our river Daugava is covered with tight ice - I love to walk on it It's not that scary, so there are many people that like this little extreme. Try it! 
Summer? Oh yes! Everything is so colorful! Green, blue ...juicy! In this summer I walked from city center to my home in 1 hour. I live in one of the neighbourhoods. 10-12 km
) Cool, huh? Also, in summer I love biking and tripping around Latvia. One of the pluses of Latvia is that you can trip around it very easily. It's only 15-20 minutes by car from centre to Jurmala (sea side) ! 40-50 minutes to Sigulda - beautiful city with castle and caves. If you want you can go to Kolka - a place, where sea and bay are coming together. It will take your 3 hours , but it worth it! It's just a little part of all great places here. And about nights... I don't know any citizen here that don't like warm , hot nights here... Doesn't matter - on the field, staring on stars or in the city center. I hope I inspired you and I wish you to come here
At least for a few days. If you live in a big city - you will like it, because you will have rest here in our quite and amazing RIGA!
