A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;
Joyce Kilmer

The Prayer And the Prey

Trees never had time to look down
since they were deeply meditative and prayerful
and lowly men never looked up except with greed
and the leafy arms along with their magnificent trunks
fell to soil incessantly resulting in sweltering heat and swirling wind
but the greedy souls under the shades never thought they were at fault,
for they were on a race to conquer and never bothered to worry why, and what for,
until till someone fell yet another pose of branches either to burn their gluttonous bodies,
or to wrap their mortal remains beneath a few feet of topsoil.

The Humane touch
Amid ravaging industrialization and the galloping human aspirations there were wise souls who spared a moment to think and act. Hence all over the world we have forest conservation campaigns awareness programs. Writers and thinkers did their might. However, I would like to mention the name of Sunderlal Bahuguna and Saalumarada Thimmakka, who, not just held these praying trees close to their hearts,but also motivated millions to follow their suit.

Dukasummer Motivation

If not for Dukasummer, I would not have ventured to climb a tree at first, and then, forget about clicking a selfie at the top,as I always had a slight aversion towards this relatively new- trend photography. Anyhow, at the end it was all really satisfying-especially the hugging of the huge tree as if praying it not to drop me down while I play my prank in between the praying arms of the mighty tree.

Thanks to the magnanimous tree, thanks to my friend and colleague who ensured there would be no mishap and above all,Thank you Dukasummer, for the opportunity.

Wish You All A pleasant Summer!
