Holiday Dish
The mid-term holidays this year, coincides with the festival season here. Anyhow, during such holidays I venture into my trial and error method with my cooking. This time around, the target is the 'food medicine' or 'food treatment'. Not because There is any illness, instead, just as a precaution. Moreover, after a few weeks of continuous struggle between the teachers and the 'taught', the crucial dopamine level seems to be a bit down. At such a scenario, the above mentioned 'treatment' acts like a boost.

Moringa Oleifera

The islands are spots of scares resources-literally. When it comes to medicinal plants, one must be extremely lucky to find one. Fortunately for such a seeker, Drumstick plant or Horseradish plant is found in most of the islands. And if you just google this term, you will be amazed to know that the whole tree is full of vitamins, minerals and all the nutrients needed for the human beings plus farm animals. Without a second thought I made up my mind that this herb will be the main ingredient of my super dish!

A Wholesome Meal.

I have decided to make full use of the holidays with a number of tasks, hence I have to reduce my time for the experiments in the kitchen. So I am going to prepare a dish with medicinal qualities, which will fit in as all the three time meals for me- breakfast, lunch and supper.
We are at the fag end of the Dukasummer Contest and I am at the beginning of my mid-term holidays. So my friends, bear with me for a lengthy post and at the end of it if any one of you is kind enough to name my dish, I will be grateful!
Here we go!
Ingredients
Since I do not intend to follow any set rules for my dish, obviously the list of ingredients too can be very flexible. In any case, any one part of this magic medicinal plant is a must. I choose the leaves because it is easy to collect, less bitter to consume and the pods which is the only produce of the plant which has some kind of taste-provided the chef knows his trade! - are not yet ready.

Now select a shorter plant so that you need not climb the tree to get some leaves and find a tree which stands in a clean surrounding and snap the small twigs at a time when the sun is shining brightly up in the sky.

Now look for any parasite or their eggs beneath the leaves and after removing all the sick and not -so -green leaves wash it gently before you nip the leaves between your fingers- in a smooth caressing motion to snap the leaves from the tiny twigs!
