I have been to so many countries and places and I do love some of them, be it the scenery, food, people or culture. However, I still think my home city – Hong Kong is the best!

I always told my friends, oh I miss the food in Hong Kong! I guess every single one on the Earth knows I love eating right?

Hong Kong has long been hailed as “Food Paradise”, you can find variety of food there!
Let me introduce you what the fascinating and mesmerizing food in Hong Kong is!!

Top 1. Cha Siu Baau
Cha Siu Baau is a steamed bun filled with sweet and savory “cha siu” pork is like barbecued heaven. This is a dim sum staple. Once I went to Cantonese restaurant with my English and French colleagues, they all found Cha Siu Baau is the best among the dishes!! They love it so much



Top 2. Yu Dan
Yu Dan, foreigners usually described in English as fish balls. It made of cod and served on skewers at night markets by roadsides. The best way to have real taste of Yu Dan is to dip it in Hong Kong’s trademark spicy curry sauce!!


Top 3. Put Chai Ko
Put Chai Ko is kind of my childhood snack. They are served in little bowls or cups (Put Chai) as a form of sweet red bean puddings (Ko). We usually skewered it on two bamboo sticks for on-the-go enjoyment.



Top 4. Poon Choi
Poon choi is a many-tiered dish that is usually eaten in layers. We usually have this dish in Chinese New Year. It’s essentially a giant bowl filled with goodies ranging from seafood and meats to veggies. Due to the massive size, (like serving 15) so we share it with all family members and eat it at a round table.



Top 5. Egg Tarts
Egg tarts is a dim sum dessert filling with sweet and yellow custard. It is every Hong Kong people’s favorite dim sum. It is also the favorite food of the Chris Patten, last Governor and Commander-in-Chief of Hong Kong.



Of course there are not only five typical and fascinating food in HK, but thousands! I just pick the top 5 that I like and the most representing cuisines of HK. Feel hungry now?
