My next new adventure won't require me to travel that far because my next holiday is going to be a week away in London. My friend is coming to visit me from a different country so we decided to spend the week in London because there is a lot we can do and see in the busy city. He has never visited London so I'm very excited to show him all the iconic places like Big Ben, London Eye and Buckingham Palace. It will be awesome if we get to visit Madame Tussauds because it's fun and the Sherlock Holmes museum because I have never been so I'm curious to see it.
When I pack I never make any lists, apart from in my head. For this trip my mental notes include that I will pack Nutella because it's my friends favourite food and hot chocolate so we have more variety of drinks in the hotel. Clothes wise I just look in my wardrobe and decide what I will want to wear. I will chose up to 7 outfits because the holiday is 7 days. I will wear comfortable shoes and pack nice heels to wear in the evenings. Then I will pack necessary things like my toiletry bag and under garments (including socks). Packing is very easy for me and never takes me longer than 2 hours in total. However I never pack at once because I do it when I have the mood for it. For example I have already started packing even though my holiday is on the 10th April. I'll do it day by day, little by little and on the last day I will pack the toiletries hence I won't be using them.
My lifehack when packing is that I arrange the heavier items on the side of the suitcase with wheels so that when the suitcase is upright the heavier items are at the bottom, therefore no delicate items will be squished. Also I pack small items in the large pocket of the suitcase so that they are easily found when unpacking. As well if I pack photos, paper or card I put this in the flat pocket too so they don't get creased.
I won't need my passport, only my phone with my electronic train tickets because I will be staying in the same country. However one time when I was traveling with a friend I did the trustworthy thing and put my passport in his rucksack, only for him to later forget the bag in a sushi café we ate in! Luckily we got in touch with the sushi café and they sent him the bag back. From now on I always keep my passport in my own bag!
