Dear Community! Today I’d like to tell you about one of the best castles I have ever seen. And it is called Herrеnchiemsee Palаce.
Herrеninsel Island is located in the midst of the biggest Bavarian lake called Chiemsеe. Thousands of tourists eager there to see the magnificent Herrenchiemsеe Palаce, the last and most expensive of the castles of Ludwіg II of Bаvaria. He called the palace "New Versailles" and the "Temple of Glory."
Idol Bavarian King was the Sun King - Louіs XIV. Pompous Herrеnchiemsee Palace was supposed to be a place for celebrations in honor of the French monarch, and a monument to Louis.
In the spring of 1878, construction began. The author of the project was Georg von Dollmann; The works were supervised by an architect Julius Hoffman. By 1884 the main stages of construction have been completed. In the autumn of 1885 it became clear that the cost of locking caused huge debts (at that time was spent from the treasury of 16 million already. Brands). Construction halted; the north wing remained unfinished (later it was demolished).
