First of all, it is undeniable that this topic is sensitive. It is all about the criteria that we women choose our man, or even not choosing any man.

At the beginning, it is important to define “successful”. To me, a successful man should be financially capable, ambitious and with a promising career. I believe that what make a man successful is all about his intrinsic traits and personal qualities. Believe it or not, the personal character can hardly be changed, if a man is born to lazy and sluggish, he will forever be lazy and sluggish with no ambition and determination, let alone be successful.

I have been dating with a guy for 2 years. When I met him, he was a NEET. He only got diploma qualification, did not have a full time job, but depended mainly on his parents. However, I still opted for him, I believed I can turn him into a real man, a responsible man who would shoulder the family burden. I kept encouraging him and instilling positive thought in him. I was like his boss, even his mum to educate and help him with all sort of thing (even helped him to type his CV and cover letter, OMG)! During the process, I found it so tiring, I want a boyfriend who can offer me love, support and care, but not a know-nothing son!! The end of the story is: I decided coming over to UK to study my MBA degree, and after 3 months I left, he dumped me! Hilarious!! Simply because I was too busy contacting with him. The news I heard from our friends about him is, he is still the same person with barely any improvement. Luckily I got dumped.

The lesson learnt from my last relationship is: never find a boyfriend who is immature, irresponsible with no motivation and ambition. Sometimes, I would think like, I’m a strong and financially independent woman with high education background, and nice face lol. I don’t need to depend on man. However, no matter how strong and independent I am, I still need love and care. Maybe just a warm embrace when I feel depressed and frustrated. I don’t deny there are a couple of admirers around, some of them could be classified as “successful” man with high profile job. To be honest, I was moved. Since we women’s time is so precious, it is better for us to find a decent and successful man when we are consider to develop a long-term relationship. I have already made a lot attempts to grow many of my EX’s into a successful man, obviously I failed to do so. Therefore, I find that grab the “already successful” man would ease my life and guarantee me a better future. I’m not money-minded at all, of course feeling and affection comes first, personal qualities rates second.

FYI, I like man who is ambitious, determined, smart and witty. I like one who share similar personality with me

I deserve the best, and only the best
