Hey guys,

So my day started normally and then I went to Friuli doc on Thursday. I live in the city where this festival takes place every year during the second week of September for 4 days. Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun. The first day is the least crowded and has the best food.

So here is task 15, my day from morning to night. I woke up as usual with my cat Freyja.

Then had my Matcha tea drink. Sometimes I have this Chai version and sometimes just the normal matcha latte. Oh the photos aren't loading in the order I would like but anyway.

I always listen to music or watch music videos to get energized in the morning and wake up fully.

Can you guess what video I was watching?

Then I got ready and put on some bright pink lipstick that doesn't show up that well on camera. Yosh! Ready to face the world!

So I went to work as usual came home and then went out again. This time to towards downtown. Friuli is a region in North eastern Italy, near Austria. This festival takes place here in Udine, the capital of friuli. It's to celebrate the region and regional food. The food here has some things in common with Austrian food though. You can often find Wurstel, and Strudel is a basic thing here. The streets are closed to cars for the festival and bancarelli or food stands and people cover the streets. Get there early or you will have a hard time ordering and getting around as people from all over head to Udine and Friuli doc. By the way, the newest master chef (US) winner is Luka from Aviano. He's from this area, nearby Udine. In the finale or semi finale he made frico, a regional dish. Its really heavy. It's like a pancake made of cheese and potatoes. The food here is really heavy.

In the picture the t-shirts say "Keep calm and drink wine" and then "I'm coming to take orders". The serving girls dressed in traditional clothes. This food stand served food from Tarvisio. A mountain town in Friuli, about 5 min from Austria.

I think that if you click on the pics you can get a better look.

My favourite friulano food is Gnocchi di zucca. Zucca means pumpkin. It's topped with smoked ricotta cheese. This is a must eat if you come to this part of Italy.

Then I had the caramel panna cotta. It turned out to be the best panna cotta I've ever had.. .. Ever.

I also tried this Ricotta strudel. It was good too. Instead of apples, use Ricotta and the normal strudel recipe. That's what it tasted like anyway.

In the next picture you can see a menu. It's for the Tarvisio food stand restaurant place. All the places have beer or wine too. The cocktail of this area is Spritz Aperol but I don't like Aperol. Instead I reccommend the local Friuli wines like Friulano (a white wine) Souvingnon (another white), Merlot or cabernet or refosco for red wines. My favourite wines are the sweet ones. Verduzzo, or Ramandolo go great with sweets or cheese but I drink it whenever. lol. In italy in general, I like Moscato. Viva!

It's a festival and there's live music, and tons of people. I even saw carnival type costumes and a mountain climbng wall along a church wall.

If you get the chance, try to come to Udine in september for Friuli Doc. Chin Chin!
