Like I mentioned in my first post, I am challenged my the Dukascopy Marathon contest, because it gives me a chance to publicly accept some goals and commit to achieving them. And achieving them requires some big lifestyle changes, which I am very happy with. A chance to become a better you and probably encourage others in the process.

FOOD

Here, I will be saving a lot of money, since I will be stay clear of all Fast food joints. No more food binges or junk meals. I am also focusing on taking in an adequate amount of water, to stay well hydrated and healthy. I did some research and settled on 3 -4 litres of water daily. I will also be stopping the occasional glass of wine or beer cans during a meal.
This part is easier said than done.

What I intend to do is for the water to replace all fluids, that is instead of wine, beer or packaged juices, I will be taking in only water. I got a 75cl bottle to track my water intake; an average of 6 bottles a day should suffice. My meal plan would be:
  • Fresh juice meals for breakfast
  • A decent-sized meal for lunch, focusing on items with low carbs and high proteins
  • Then salad meals for dinner
  • I will also keep handy a lot of fruits, for those hungry moments.
This was what today's meal looked like:

I had the orange juice with three slices of bread, and every meal with at least a bottle of water. I took two bottles after my morning run, that part was very easy. I found myself really thirsty after an eight kilometer run. And of cos, no booze or wine, no fried foods, just water and a lot of fruits.

LIFESTYLE

For this part, I am making some big changes. First, I will be switching to a punk-hairdo for the next 21 days. For those not familiar with the style, I have added some example below:

I am also switching up my wardrobe, dropping the casual look and going either traditional attires or corporate. The traditional attires are to help me connect and advertise the Nigerian culture, while the corporate is to get help increase my business influence. They say dress the way you want to be addressed, so

For time spent on social sites, I am setting a limit of 1.5 hours a day.

  • I have already sent out messages to all my friends asking them to contact me via phone calls or SMS for anything urgent or important. 30 minutes every morning, afternoon and evening should be enough to catch up on general events.
  • I am restricting this interaction to just Facebook, Instagram and twitter. All the apps have been uninstalled from my phone, so I can only access the accounts from my home or office desktop.
  • I will also try and make more physical and verbal interactions, less texts and posts, and more calls, and outings with friends. That part should be fun.
