You know how important to know a right place to go while you abroad. As for me, I just hate to take excursions to visit touristic places and do group sightseeing! It is like a hell for me. Fortunately, I have lots of friends throughout the world who always can help me with advice and put in contact with right people)) I think it is much better to see the city from insider view and to visit places which non of the travel's guide won't advice to see to a proper tourist.
Also I would like to emphasize the importance to know the right places for night out because when we are on holidays we want to have some fun and see how it works in different countries. In all cities there are some places for tourists only where you will never see a locals and vice versa. And of course the second option is better))
I am living in a wonderful city Kiev. There are a lot of historical and other places to visit. I will advice you the most interesting and less touristic places but lets start from the very beginning of your trip.

Where to stay?
Here in Kiev you will find lots of options where to stay, from apartments to rent to Five stars luxury hotels. Simply go to airbnb web site, you will find there the place you want 100%.
What to see?
If you want go deep into Ukrainian culture and see maximum of Ukrainian colors plus to have a nice walking you should definitely go to Andreevskiy Spusk. There is a nice market full of Ukrainian souvenirs, national clothes and accessories, different ancient weapons, fake one of course! It is amazing place. And than you can go down the street and see the huge exhibition of paints made by Ukrainian painters. A bit further you will see Vozdvijenka place. This is beautiful place in Kiev with lots of nice small houses around and different cafes and restaurants. In fact you can go and have a nice lunch in any of those places. In summer time people doing a nice picnics over there.
If you addicted to art I would also recommend you to see our Pinchuk Art Centre and Mysteckiy Arsenal. There always different exhibitions are going on.
There is one more place I would highly recommend you to see if you have enough time is Vydubetskiy Monastery. Ohhh it is amazing place especially in summer time! Very calm, peaceful and with amazing views! I love this place much more than our famous Pecherskaya Lavra. I'm sure you will like it a lot!

What else you should definitely do is to try Ukrainian cuisine! I would recommend you to do it for lunch time coz it is quite heavy. There are two of my favorite restaurants for Ukrainian food:
1. Carskoe Selo - it is a proper Ukrainian restaurant with all decorations inside. You will feel yourself as you are in a real Ukrainian village of XIX century and food is just delicious!! 22 Lavrska str.
2. Kanapa Restaurant which is located on Andreevskiy Spusk - a bit different and unusual but very tasty. They have more fusion cuisine but still with Ukrainian motif! I'm sure you will like it! Andreevskiy Spusk 19.
Also you should visit old part of our city which is called Podol and have a nice funicular trip up to Vladimyrskaya Gorka and have a nice walking enjoying amazing sightseeing there in the park. On Podol place you will find lots of restaurants as well where you can have lunch or dinner.
Restaurants and Clubs I recommend to go:
1. Ok Bar -one of my favorite places in Kiev. Good as for dinner as pre party place as well. Italian and Asian cuisine. 94 Chervonoarmiyska str.
2. Eshak -amazing place to smoke shisha and try Uzbek cuisine. 85 -87 Chervonoarmiyska str.
3. Concord restaurant. European cuisine. 42/4 Pushkinskaya str
4. Praha restaurant. Amazing place, especially during summer time. European cuisine. 1 Academician Glushkov str.
5. Seif restaurant is very good as pre party place. European cuisine. 23 A Krasnoarmeyskaya str.
I have two favorite night clubs in Kiev: Decadance house and Sky bar. Both located in Arena city on 2 Basseinaya str. You will have lots of fun there 1000%. Besides Karaoke clubs are very popular in Kiev. The most popular is JUST cafe which is located on 39 Bohdana Hmelnickogo str.
